Daily Prompt: Go to your Stats page and check your top 3-5 posts. Why do you think they’ve been successful? Find the connection between them, and write about it.
I can see absolutely no connection between my top 5 posts. I am honestly surprised that a couple of them get so many hits. Here are my top 5:
1. A Letter to My Mother and Father-in-law
I wrote this as a heartfelt tribute to my in-laws this year on their 60th wedding anniversary. Lots of people find this blog by googling “letter to my future in-laws”, “letter to my mother-in-law” or “letter to my father-in-law,” etc. I guess a lot of people are looking for words to say to their in-laws. It’s not a post I would have ever have thought would be my top post.
2. Bats (The Flying Mammal Kind) Part 2
I wrote a three-part series on bats which I had a lot of fun doing. I have a strong passion for these creatures and don’t like it one bit that they get treated so unkindly and are hated by so many people who are simply not educated about them. I love to educate people (especially school-aged children) about bats. I am happy (actually quite thrilled) this is a popular post but NOT happy that the format of this blog got all messed up with words going off in the margins and such. I have no idea why the page got so jumbled up and one day when I can find the time, I plan to sit down and work on this post to get it back like I originally had it!
3. Red White and Blue Jell-O Cups
This post gets a lot of hits around patriotic holidays for obvious reasons.
4. College Fall Care Package Ideas
I guess there are a lot of college parents out there like me who like to send their college students care packages.
5. Fly Strike Dermatitis in Dogs
This post has been getting a lot of hits lately so I can only assume dog owners are having a lot of problems with fly strike this summer. It’s a very common problem so I’m not surprised.

Funny! It’s amazing how many people google “Letter to my in-laws” daily! Never would have guessed it.
