psalm-23

The 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

—Psalm 23:1-6

My condolences on the passing of your uncle. Psalm 23 is so beautiful. We read that just before the mortician took away my Father-in-Law’s body after he passed at home (years ago). Just as the Hospice Chaplain read, “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death” we all burst out laughing because the family cat walked under the stretcher. God gave us humor in a very sad time.

Peace to you and your family.

Oh, my.. I was about to say it’s my favorite Psalm, when I saw that it was for your uncle’s passing. It is all the sweeter for that. My condolences to (((you))) and yours.
