Teddy the Porcupine Eating a Frozen Banana

It’s hot out there today folks! The heat wave continues… I just heard our temperature—96 degrees with a heat index of 109.  And I believe it.

Teddy knows how to stay cool on hot days.  I love this porcupine!

And, wow — stay cool!! That’s too hot!!

    • Gail says:

It was hot and got to 101 actual temperature according to my thermometer.

      • Relax... says:

Well, we only get a day of over a hundred here, but the 101 I experienced in May while picking up kids from schools and the 114 I experienced (just before I met a gorgeous sailor that night) were exhausting. Just exhausting to the whole human organism. It’s so bad, one thinks the next day, “Thank God it’s only 90-something today!” lol — I don’t know how you folks can live in those temps for long stretches.

      • Gail says:

It’s not so much the heat but the humidity that gets to me. Or actually the combination of both. We’ve been under a heat advisory for several days warning that the combination of both can be deadly. Yes!

      • Relax... says:

It is a bad combination indeed, a little like snow followed by freezing rain.

      • Gail says:

Yep. In the winter, we usually get rain followed by sleet and ice. Not much snow at all anymore. Hopefully the rain coming in this afternoon will cool it down a bit.

      • Relax... says:

Rain’s good for something! I will hope along with you for its cooling effect!
