Things I’m Loving These Days

We actually had our first bout of fall-like weather last night.  I opened the windows (which made the kitties very happy!) and the cool breeze that was wafting into the house felt wonderful, especially after the hot and very humid summer we just endured.

Blue Pumpkins

Yes, I said blue pumpkins!  Have you seen them?  As my sisters and I shopped in Shipshewana, Indiana last week, I kept seeing displays with these grayish blue pumpkins.  At first I thought they were some sort of painted pumpkin.  I even stopped my sisters as we walked into a store and pointed down at these very unusual pumpkins and asked them if they were “real”  or painted.  We just weren’t quite sure.  They sure looked real.  I came home and googled them and they are indeed real.  I think they’re lovely!  My sister and I wondered if we would see them in Tennessee and I got the answer to that today.  I was coming home from the library this afternoon and passed a pumpkin stand and there they were!  Orange pumpkins, ghost (white) pumpkins, and blue pumpkins!  I’m now wondering if these blue pumpkins were the inspiration behind all the teal and turquoise-colored glass pumpkins I’m seeing in stores this year.  It seems to be the new fall color.

Bath and Body Works Wallflower Scents

My sister turned me on to these.  She uses them throughout her house and her house always smells so good–so clean and fresh!  She gave me several different scents for my birthday and I’m hooked!  I’m trying out the fall scents now.  I think I have a new addiction!  These would make great stocking stuffers.

I have several of the basic white wallflower plugs.

I love the fall wallflower plugs too!  I have the glitter pumpkin nightlight and the red leaf.  I love the fall corn and owl too.  They have so many cute plugs!

Blue Bell Spiced Pumpkin Pecan Ice Cream

If you know me, you know I love all things pumpkin and pumpkin ice cream is no exception.  I rarely eat ice cream but I always make an exception in the fall.  Gotta have some pumpkin ice cream y’all!  This ice cream tastes just like pumpkin pie.  Delicious!

Antique Shops and Flea Markets

My husband and I love to shop in flea markets and Antique shops.  We went to visit our son  recently and we always pass this rustic little flea market on the way to his house.  We finally stopped to shop there on our last visit and it didn’t disappoint.  I came away with this metal artwork that we hung on the wall above a mirrored dresser.  A nice reminder that I am indeed grateful, thankful and blessed!

This Giraffe Pillow

A friend gave this to me for my birthday.  This friend and I watched April the Giraffe give birth (we were on the phone together during part of April’s laboring).  We’re both looking forward to another giraffe birth next year (yes, April is pregnant again)!  So yes, this pillow just made me smile!

Six ceramic colored bowls

I needed some new bowls badly.  Many of mine were chipped or cracked.  I found these in a catalog and ordered them and have been well-pleased with them.  And they’re just the perfect size!

Ed Sheeran Music

Love all three of his albums. As you can see, Nugget likes Ed too.  🙂

Paper Mate® InkJoy Gel Pens

I like the way these pens write.  And I found them in a bargain bin at Office Depot for a great price.  Win!

Dakota really wanted to play with these pens badly.  One second after this photo was snapped, there were pens scattered everywhere!

I really love those blue pumpkins! I have to see if I can find any here! Thank you for all the updates….will have to look into the fragrances…I love the smell of fall in the house as I think it makes it feel cozier! 🙂

I hope you find the blue pumpkins! I love them too.

I don’t know if you subscribe to Bath and Body Works emails, but they put the wallflower scents on sale every few weeks. I don’t ever pay the regular price of $6.50- I wait until they put them on sale. I bought my last batch of scents for $2.95 each. They will also come out with Christmas scents and decorative Christmas wallflower plugs. My sister has the poinsettia plug and it is so pretty!

      Have a good weekend Yvonne!

  2. Wow! Blue pumpkins! Those things are gorgeous! Are they orange on the inside? I really like that photo of all of the different pumpkins and gourds. I used to really like B&B, but after a while everything started smelling the same although I still have a bunch of their stuff. I like the little anti-bac hand cleaners. I didn’t know that the Wallflowers had gotten so pretty. It’s been a year since I’ve been in there. Guess I should go check them out!

Yes, I believe the flesh of the blue pumpkin is orange.

I’ve noticed that the wallflower scents vary. I can buy the same scent and it will smell totally different than a previous bottle. I’ve seen other people mention that on reviews of certain scents so I’m not the only one who has noticed that! I like their candles but just can’t make myself pay what they ask for them!!
