Holiday Dangers for Pets

I usually repost this blog every year at the holidays. I’m still having a great deal of trouble navigating this “new” Block Editor (If you really want to know, I HATE IT) and it’s making me want to just throw in the towel on blogging. The Block Editor is too complicated for a simple blogger such as myself and there’s just WAY too many bells and whistles. Just my opinion, but it’s not user friendly for a little personal blogger who just likes to occasionally share some thoughts. Maybe it’s fine for a business/professional blog but…..

For some reason, my reblog button won’t work, so I’m providing the link to the post on Holiday Danger for Pets.

Merry Christmas to you and all your furry, feathered and scaled friends. Stay safe!

Excellent article. As for blog-woes, go to WP FAQs or help forums — look for (or ask) how to choose Classic post instead of Block format. Good luck, hang in here, stay well, and I’m wishing you a peaceful Christmas. ❤️

I am actually using the Classic but it keeps jumping back and forth from it the block editor and it won’t do certain things you can do on Classic. Drives me insane! Why oh why couldn’t they just leave well enough alone? Oh well, it is the least of my worries and I shouldn’t be complaining about it.
You have a peaceful Christmas too.

Well, after you open a new blog post page, put cursor in body of text, then click on the gearwheel top right beside “Publish” — it should open to a format tool page.. choose Post (Block is always underlined as default.) Scroll down for categories & tags. Then, hit the x at top right of that page & it’ll return you to your post. Here’s hoping!!

        Thanks Carol.

  2. The block editor does take some getting used to. I had a bunch of confusion at first too. I only use a couple of parts of it but even then it seems like a lot of buttons to push for one simple thing. Have a Merry Christmas Gail! And let’s hope the new year is much much better!

Hi Gail, from your dashboard, just click on “Posts”. At the top of the window, there will be an option to “add new” with a little drop down. Click on the dropdown, and you can choose the classic editor. I’m right there with you about the block editor. It gets on my last nerve! Merry Christmas!

Okay. I tried this and it looks like it might work and not switch back and forth between classic and block. Thank you so much! The Block Editor is just NOT for me!
