In this week’s photo challenge we are to depict the word “Eerie.”
A few weeks ago I was driving home from a local state park and happened to see a group of vultures sitting atop a TVA Electrical Tower. They were a mix of Turkey Vultures (red-head) and Black Vultures. To me, they looked very eerie.
We are known here in the south to call these creatures “Buzzards” but I was informed in veterinary school that this is incorrect– they are VULTURES, not buzzards!

OMG my worst nightmare.
Not sure why they were gathering there, but yes, it was pretty creepy!
I think your eerie title should be “Here’s lookin’ at you, kid!” 🙂

waiting for the next kill
Guess so! I saw them again the other day. They were in the same area but this time they were all on top of the roof of a very old red barn! Now that was creepy! Wish I could have gotten a picture of them on that barn! I bet there were 100 of them.
